Easy, gluten free cookie popcorn balls make the ultimate movie night snack!

Movie Night
Movie night at home is one of my favorite traditions: cozying up on the couch, choosing a great film, and making fun snacks. Staying in lets me control ingredients, so I can make sure everything is gluten free for our family.
We’re big fans of both popcorn and cookies, so combining them into cookie popcorn balls felt like a no-brainer. Popcorn balls are a nostalgic treat—sweet, a little salty, and perfectly portable for snacking during a movie.
Fudge-Striped Deliciousness
I used to love ring-shaped cookies as a kid—I’d put one on my finger and nibble around it. After my celiac diagnosis I missed that cookie texture and flavor until I discovered Goodie Girl’s fudge-striped gluten free cookies.
Goodie Girl recently released a fudge-striped gluten free cookie that adds the perfect chocolaty crunch to these popcorn balls. It’s the cookie element in this recipe and gives each bite extra texture and flavor.
These cookies are available at Walmart and online. They’re gluten free, peanut free, and this flavor is egg free, too. When I opened a package, even my gluten-eating husband polished off a whole bag—so be ready to share or hide a stash!

Cookie Popcorn Balls
These popcorn balls are incredibly simple and come together quickly. The method uses melted marshmallows instead of a cooked sugar syrup, which keeps the process easy while still binding the popcorn and cookies into handheld balls.
Start by crushing the cookies. Melt butter with marshmallows over medium heat until smooth, then toss the melted mixture with popped popcorn and the chopped cookies. Grease your hands lightly, shape the mixture into balls, and let them cool. They hold together well and are a fun mix of crunch, chew, and chocolate.
Your next movie night will feel extra special with these cookie popcorn balls. They’re also great for bake sales, classroom treats, lunchbox snacks, or party favors. Wrap them individually in plastic wrap for easy storage and grab-and-go treats.
Goodie Girl is also running a promotion with a Wonder Woman movie pack giveaway. If you’re a fan, check their current offers and promotions directly on their brand channels.
So tell me—what’s your go-to movie snack?
