We stayed at The Vintage Inn in downtown Yountville, California with the wedding party. This charming inn sits within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants, making it a convenient base for exploring the town. The property features a heated pool that the kids loved, even during a rainy day, and the concierge staff were consistently helpful and attentive.
Each morning the inn offers a generous breakfast buffet that includes an omelette station, a variety of fresh fruit, roasted potatoes, and the usual selection of breads and hot cereals. After observing how the buffet was arranged and speaking with staff, we felt confident that the omelette station and the roasted potatoes were prepared without gluten-containing ingredients and were placed separately from the bread and other gluten-containing items. Arriving early for breakfast helped reduce the chance of stray crumbs or shared utensils contaminating the gluten-free options.
To be extra cautious, we tested our son’s food using our Nima portable gluten sensor. The device displayed a “No Gluten” result, which gave us additional reassurance that the prepared items were safe. We regularly use the Nima on our trips; it has helped us feel more confident when dining away from home.
