Air fryer eggs offer an incredibly simple way to make boiled eggs without water, constant monitoring, or mess. Whether you want soft-boiled, jammy, or hard-boiled eggs, the air fryer makes the process easy: place the eggs in the basket, set the temperature and time, and forget about them until they are ready. No preheating is required, and the shells peel easily—which is why this has become my preferred method for “boiling” eggs.

Pros of air fried eggs
1. No water and no supervision needed: Traditional stovetop boiling requires attention, timing, and boiling water. With the air fryer you avoid all of that—no boiling water, no watching the pot, and no steaming the kitchen.
2. Easy to peel: Eggs cooked in the air fryer peel very easily. After cooking, transfer them to a bowl of ice water to cool, then peel. They store well in the refrigerator and are handy for meal prep or quick snacks.
3. One ingredient: All you need is eggs. Place them in a single layer in the air fryer basket, set the temperature and time, and let the appliance do the work.

Storage
Air-fried eggs can be stored with the shells on in the refrigerator for up to one week. Cooling them quickly in ice water helps stop cooking and makes peeling easier later.

FAQs
Yes. Use a small air-fryer-safe pan or dish, break the egg into it, and cook at 180°C (360°F). A fried egg typically takes about 3 minutes, depending on egg size and desired doneness.
For soft-boiled eggs, air fry at 120°C (250°F) for 11–12 minutes. For jammy eggs—yolks set but soft—air fry at 130°C (270°F) for around 11 minutes. Times will vary with air fryer model and egg size; these results are based on medium eggs in a Philips air fryer.
You can cook small batches (1–4 eggs) in the air fryer. For hard-boiled results at 120°C (250°F), aim for 13–14 minutes. For soft-boiled eggs in small batches, around 11 minutes worked well in my tests.

Instructions
-
Set your air fryer to 120°C (250°F). Do not preheat.
-
Arrange 11–12 eggs in a single layer in the basket. Air fry for 12 minutes for soft-boiled eggs.
-
Remove eggs with tongs (they will be hot) and transfer to a bowl of ice water. Cool, peel, and serve.
-
For hard-boiled eggs, air fry at 120°C (250°F) for 14–15 minutes, then cool in ice water before peeling.
-
For jammy eggs, air fry at 130°C (270°F) for about 11 minutes, then cool in ice water and peel.
Notes
2. Soft-boiled eggs here have slightly soft yolks rather than fully runny centers. For runnier yolks, try 9–10 minutes at 120°C (250°F). Jammy eggs have a thicker, jam-like yolk.
3. I tested smaller batches (1, 2, 4 eggs). For hard-boiled eggs in small batches, 13–14 minutes at 120°C (250°F) worked; for soft-boiled, about 11 minutes.
4. Immediately cooling eggs in ice water stops cooking and eases peeling. 5. Use tongs to handle hot eggs to avoid burns. 6. Roll cooled eggs gently to crack the shell before peeling. 7. Store cooked eggs in their shells in the fridge for up to a week. 8. Season and enjoy as you like. 9. Adjust times based on your air fryer model and egg size.
